This one features a family affair! Sean Oser, a family medicine physician and diabetes researcher has had type 1 diabetes (T1D) for over 30 years. Sean’s daughter, Jessica, a fraternal twin, now 17, has had T1D for over 10 years.

Read ArticleDon Muchow started running in 2004 after a laser treatment for diabetes-related retinopathy. Running was a cheap way to start being active. Once he got going, he needed a community of other people with type 1 diabetes to learn from and exchange ideas about exercise. He started the Diabetes & Exercise Alliance. In March 2019, with support from that community and his wife, Leslie, Don ran across Texas -- 850 miles in 27 days. He set a FKT by 2.5 days.
