First, talk with your healthcare provider to make sure they agree that a Tandem Diabetes Care pump is right for you. More clinics than ever before are offering telehealth visits, and you probably can do this from the comfort of your own home.
Then, fill out our online form.
This form gives us permission to reach out to your healthcare provider and insurance company.
Once we receive this information, our insurance team will conduct a personalized insurance investigation to determine your out-of-pocket costs.
A Tandem representative will reach out to you within several days to confirm your information. When you are ready, they will work with your healthcare provider to complete the necessary paperwork.
A Tandem representative will be with you virtually, every step of the way.
Once your pump is shipped, you’ll be contacted shortly by either a Tandem pump trainer or your healthcare provider to schedule your training session. In the meantime, be sure to check your email for some online modules and other educational activities to prepare you for your training. Telehealth training may be conducted in a virtual remote setting or in person at your healthcare provider’s office, based on preference.
Our team has successfully conducted pump training for new t:slim X2™ insulin pump users via remote demonstration tools, and we are proud to report that our customer satisfaction scores are the highest in the industry at 98%!
When the scheduled time comes, if you and your doctor chose the virtual option, you will join your trainer for a telehealth session. The two of you will go over the features of your new device and software.*

RX ONLY. The t:slim X2 insulin pump with interoperable technology is an alternate controller enabled (ACE) pump that is intended for the subcutaneous delivery of insulin, at set and variable rates, for the management of diabetes mellitus in people requiring insulin. The pump is able to reliably and securely communicate with compatible, digitally connected devices, including automated insulin dosing software, to receive, execute, and confirm commands from these devices. The pump is indicated for use in individuals six years of age and greater. The pump is intended for single patient, home use and requires a prescription. The pump is indicated for use with NovoLog or Humalog U-100 insulin. Users of the pump must: be willing and able to use the insulin pump and all other system components in accordance with their respective instructions for use; test blood glucose levels as recommended by their healthcare provider; demonstrate adequate carb-counting skills; maintain sufficient diabetes self-care skills; see healthcare provider(s) regularly; and have adequate vision and/or hearing to recognize all functions of the pump, including alerts.
