You must have a compatible smartphone model and operating system to use either the Tandem t:slim mobile app (with the t:slim X2 insulin pump) or the Tandem Mobi mobile app (with the Tandem Mobi insulin pump).
Each smartphone device is individually tested to ensure a consistent and secure connection with a Tandem Diabetes Care insulin pump. Smartphones that fail our qualification tests are marked as incompatible. A failed test result indicates that the combination of operating system and smartphone model does not support the intended use of our mobile app. For example, a device may fail testing if its hardware reliability is insufficient to maintain app connectivity with the insulin pump.
Our system generally supports the latest two major iOS versions for Apple devices and the latest three major Android versions. While your phone may be compatible with the Tandem system at the start of your warranty period, compatibility is not guaranteed for the entire duration. As mobile operating systems evolve, you may need to upgrade your phone to maintain compatibility with our system.
Tandem t:slim mobile app users: If your smartphone device is not listed below, but is running a supported operating system, you may still be able to use the Tandem t:slim mobile app without the ability to bolus from your smartphone.
If your smartphone isn’t listed below as a compatible device, please know that we’re working hard to test more devices and expand our compatibility list.
Note: If you use third-party mobile apps to manage your therapy, it’s important to check compatibility with the developers of that mobile app before updating your smartphone’s operating system.

Tandem Mobi Mobile App
Use of the Tandem Mobi mobile app requires a prescription for the Tandem Mobi insulin pump and pairing with a compatible smartphone.

Not all smartphone operating system versions are compatible. As a result, you should disable automatic operating system updates and always verify the new operating system is supported (including beta versions) before updating the software on your smartphone. Minor updates and maintenance updates (e.g., iOS 18.1, 18.2) should not be impacted and can be installed at your discretion.
Tandem t:slim Mobile App
Use of the Tandem t:slim mobile app requires a prescription for the t:slim X2 insulin pump, compatible pump software, and pairing with a compatible smartphone. If your smartphone model is not compatible but runs a supported operating system, you may still be able to use the Tandem t:slim mobile app as a secondary display for your pump. Compatible Pump Software
In order to bolus from the Tandem t:slim mobile app, your t:slim X2 insulin pump must be running software version 6.6, 7.6, or higher and be paired with a compatible smartphone model and operating system.
Please note that t:slim X2 pump software version 7.10.2 (and above) is only compatible with the Tandem t:slim mobile app version 2.11.1 or higher. For full functionality of the Tandem t:slim mobile app, we recommend updating to mobile app version 2.11.1 before updating your t:slim X2 pump to software version 7.10.2.
If your t:slim X2 insulin pump is not running compatible pump software, you will need to complete a software update, if eligible through the Tandem Source platform, prior to using the Tandem t:slim mobile app.
Note: If your t:slim X2 insulin pump is not compatible with the Tandem t:slim mobile app, you will not see Bluetooth Settings within the Options menu of your pump. Some software updates may require a new prescription from your healthcare provider.
