Tandem Device Updater

Tandem carefully develops software updates to ensure your safety and satisfaction. Please review the instructions and take time to understand the new features before beginning your update.

t:slim X2™ Pump update

This update allows you to view Dexcom G5® Mobile CGM information directly on your pump screen, instead of on a separate Dexcom receiver.1 You will now be able to view your CGM data on your pump and through Dexcom's mobile app at the same time. If you don’t currently use a Dexcom G5, you will need a prescription from your healthcare provider for a CGM device to take full advantage of this update.

If your pump is eligible for this update, you should have received an email from Tandem Diabetes Care with the unique update ID required for the process. If you received your t:slim X2 Pump in September 2017 or later, your pump was likely loaded with this software update before it was shipped, and you would not have received an email. If this is the case, there are no new updates for your pump at this time. If you are unsure if your pump is eligible for this update, please call Customer Technical Support at (877) 801-6901 for assistance.

Get ready

Before you begin, please consult the Tandem Device Updater User Guide and make sure that you are prepared with each of the following items on hand:

  • Your unique Update ID Number, sent to you in an email. If you did not receive an email from us, give our Customer Support Team a call at (877) 801-6901. The Software Support Team is available between 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific Time.
  • A backup insulin delivery option, such as a syringe and fast-acting insulin, in case there are any issues updating your pump.
  • Your blood glucose meter so that you can check your BG prior to starting the update.
  • A convenient time to stop all insulin delivery, detach your infusion set, and remove your cartridge. We recommend performing the update when you are ready to change your cartridge.
  • A computer that meets all of the minimum system requirements which is connected to the internet. If you are using a laptop, make sure that it remains plugged in to a wall outlet during the half hour it will take to complete the update.
  • And remember, the t:flex and t:slim G4 pumps are not currently compatible with the Tandem Device Updater.
