The t:simulator™ app is a free virtual demo of the t:slim X2™ insulin pump, available for download here. In addition to a pump simulation, you can also learn about technical specifications, the t:connect® web application, access a glossary of common terms, and view our Quick Reference sheets.
In addition to downloading the t:simulator app, you can also visit our Education and Resources page to review additional training videos and documents. For further support, contact our Customer Support Team at (877) 801-6901 or speak with your local representative.
The required training for the Basal-IQ® technology update is simple, takes just 30-45 minutes and is available online through the t:connect online portal. Patients will receive a unique Update ID Code once training is complete, which will allow them to update their pump software using a personal computer. Healthcare providers will work in conjunction with a Tandem representative to coordinate training for patients who receive prescriptions for a new t:slim X2 insulin pump preloaded with Basal-IQ technology.
Yes. Because Basal-IQ technology automates an aspect of insulin therapy and uses a new continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system, this update will require a prescription and online training. Any t:slim X2 pump users updating to the Basal-IQ feature are required to complete training before receiving their unique Update ID Code needed to update the pump software. The Basal-IQ technology update is only available to in-warranty t:slim X2 pump users.
We work with each new customer to determine the best approach to get in-network coverage, whether that be directly through Tandem or one of our authorized distributors. Patients then order their supplies from Tandem or through their distributor. For existing Tandem pump users, there should be no change in the ordering process. The Dexcom G6 CGM is sold separately. Patients starting on CGM for the first time should contact Dexcom directly to place an order. Existing Dexcom customers will continue to order CGM supplies as they do currently.
Important Safety Information
Caution: Federal (USA) law restricts the t:slim X2 insulin pump and the t:slim X2 insulin pump with Basal-IQ technology to sale by or on the order of a physician. The t:slim X2 insulin pump with Basal-IQ technology (the System) consists of the t:slim X2 insulin pump, which contains Basal-IQ technology, and a compatible integrated continuous glucose monitor (iCGM, sold separately). The t:slim X2 insulin pump is intended for the subcutaneous delivery of insulin, at set and variable rates, for the management of diabetes mellitus in people requiring insulin. The t:slim X2 insulin pump can be used solely for continuous insulin delivery and as part of the System. When used with a compatible CGM, the t:slim X2 insulin pump with Basal-IQ technology can be used to suspend insulin delivery based on CGM sensor readings. The pump and the System are indicated for use in individuals 6 years of age and greater. The pump and the System are intended for single patient use. The pump and the System are indicated for use with NovoLog or Humalog U-100 insulin. The System is not indicated for use in pregnant women, people on dialysis, or critically ill patients. Users of the pump and the System must: be willing and able to use the insulin pump, CGM, and all other system components in accordance with their respective instructions for use; test blood glucose levels as recommended by their healthcare provider; demonstrate adequate carb-counting skills; maintain sufficient diabetes self-care skills; see healthcare provider(s) regularly; and have adequate vision and/or hearing to recognize all functions of the pump, including alerts. The t:slim X2 pump, transmitter, and sensor must be removed before MRI, CT, or diathermy treatment. For additional important safety information, visit www.tandemdiabetes.com/safetyinfo.
The t:connect web application is intended for use by individuals with diabetes mellitus who use Tandem Diabetes Care insulin pumps, their caregivers, and their healthcare providers in home and clinical settings. The t:connect web application supports diabetes management through the display and analysis of information downloaded from Tandem Diabetes Care insulin pumps and specified blood glucose meters.
