For 38 years, Camp Granada, a residential camp, has been bringing children with diabetes the opportunity to meet other children with diabetes in a medically safe, supervised environment.
The experience allows them to identify with one another, learn about themselves and learn to cope with diabetes on a daily basis. While swimming, canoeing, playing kick ball, dancing and making new friends, they will also be learning how to give their own shots, calculate insulin dosages, count carbs and manage their diabetes.
