If you are an in-warranty t:slim X2 insulin pump user in the United States, you can access the latest software update free of charge. Here are the three simple steps to add Basal-IQ technology to your insulin pump:

1

Log in to the Customer Portal

Visit portal.tandemdiabetes.com using your existing t:connect® username and password. If you don’t have a t:connect account, you can create one during this process. Once you verify your contact information in the t:connect portal, we will work directly with your healthcare provider to get a signed prescription for you.

Note: After the update, your pump will only be compatible with a Dexcom G6* continuous glucose monitor (CGM). It will no longer communicate with Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM.

Responsible Use of
Basal-IQ Technology

Systems like the t:slim X2 insulin pump with Basal-IQ technology are not substitutes for active diabetes management, as there are common scenarios in which automated systems cannot prevent hypoglycemia. The Basal-IQ feature relies on continuous CGM readings and will not be able to predict glucose levels and suspend insulin delivery if your CGM is not working properly or is unable to communicate with your pump. Be sure to always use your pump, cartridges, CGM, and infusion sets as instructed and check them regularly to make sure they are working properly. Always pay attention to your symptoms, actively monitor your glucose levels, and treat according to your healthcare provider’s recommendations.

* Dexcom G6 CGM sold separately. The Dexcom G6 CGM transmitter can only be paired with one medical device (either a Dexcom receiver or t:slim X2 pump) and one consumer device (phone or tablet) at the same time. CGM coverage may vary based on insurance. Please consult your CGM supplier for coverage information.
† Must include the OS x El Capitan 10.11.4 update, which improves stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac.
