Software Update Coming Soon!

t:slim X2 Insulin Pump with Basal-IQ Technology and Dexcom G6® CGM

We have decided to integrate the Basal-IQ feature with Dexcom’s new G6® continuous glucose monitor (CGM) approved earlier this year, to offer you a system that can predict and help prevent lows with zero fingersticks.1,2  We are actively working on this new integration and plan to begin rolling out software updates in August 2018.

All in-warranty t:slim X2 Pump users in the United States have the option to access the Basal-IQ feature free of charge via a software update using their personal computer.3  This update will require a prescription and online training before it can be downloaded, all of which will be coordinated through a simple-to-use online portal.

No action is required at this time.

In the next few weeks, when our new online portal is available, you will receive an email with instructions on how to get the process started. The process will consist of three steps:

Submit request online

We will email you when the online portal is ready, which you can then use to verify your contact information and request your prescription. Upon completion of this step, we will coordinate with your healthcare provider to get a signed prescription for the Basal-IQ feature and Dexcom G6 CGM.

Complete online training

Once the signed prescription is received from your healthcare provider, you will automatically be sent a link to the online training courses. Online training will take approximately 45 minutes to complete and must be completed before you can receive your software update.

  1. If glucose alerts and readings from the Dexcom G6 CGM do not match symptoms or expectations, use a blood glucose meter to make diabetes treatment decisions.
  2. Dexcom G6 CGM sold separately. CGM coverage may vary based on insurance. Please consult your CGM supplier for coverage information.

Indications for use:
RX ONLY. The t:slim X2 Insulin Pump with Basal-IQ Technology (the system) consists of the t:slim X2 Insulin Pump which contains the Basal-IQ technology, and a continuous glucose monitor (CGM). The t:slim X2 Insulin Pump is intended for the subcutaneous delivery of insulin, at set and variable rates, for the management of diabetes mellitus in persons requiring insulin. The t:slim X2 Insulin Pump can be used solely for continuous insulin delivery and as part of the t:slim X2 Insulin Pump with Basal-IQ Technology system. When the System is used with a compatible iCGM, the Basal-IQ Technology can be used to suspend insulin delivery based on CGM sensor readings. Interpretation of the System results should be based on the trends and patterns seen with several sequential readings over time. CGM also aids in the detection of episodes of hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia, facilitating both acute and long-term therapy adjustments.  Compatible iCGM systems are intended for single patient use and require a prescription. The System is indicated for use in individuals 6 years of age and greater. The System is intended for single patient use and requires a prescription. The System is indicated for use with NovoLog or Humalog U-100 insulin.
