WHAT OTHER ACTIVITES WILL BE AT THE WALK?

Enjoy a number of festivities throughout walk day including our signature 7-Eleven sugar-free Slurpees, blue hair dye at the Floyd’s 99 tent, pictures with your favorite Star Wars storm troopers, interactive display by Mazda, and more. Before we kickoff the walk we will have a special presentation in honor of the anniversary of 9-11. Feel free to bring your picnic blankets and lawn games to enjoy after you return from the walk.

ARE DOGS ALLOWED AT THE WALK?

Dogs that do well around other dogs and crowds are welcome at the walk site - though we ask that you bring clean up bags and water for your furry friends.

CAN I ATTEND THE WALK IF I DID NOT FUNDRAISE?

Yes. However, the walk is the JDRF Rocky Mountain Chapter’s largest fundraiser and is a fully donor driven walk (no registration fee). The money raised goes to help fund the best and most cutting edge research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes. Keep in mind, for each walker who walks the route, JDRF pays $16.

On Walk Day, we will have special stations at registration where walkers can make a last minute donation via credit card, check or cash. We encourage EVERY walker to make a donation to support T1D research.

I'M AN ADULT WITH T1D. WHAT ABOUT ME?

JDRF YLC is Denver’s newest philanthropic social group.  Join other Young professionals age 20ish to 40ish interested in Type 1 Diabetes and having an important impact on fundraising research while having a great time getting to know other people in Denver!  Meetups are scheduled once a month at different bars, breweries and venues around Downtown Denver.  For more information contact Bryan at bnhulburd@gmail.com

I'D LIKE TO VOLUNTEER FOR THE WALK.

The Walk is a hopeful and special time for everyone involved. It is encouraging to see so many people coming together to put an end to this disease, which affects so many people. Being a Walk volunteer is a fun and rewarding experience that allows each of you to be an important part of finding a cure for T1D. It is also be an excellent way for high school students to earn community service hours! For more information, contact Kelli Raleigh at 303-209-7719 or kraleigh@jdrf.org

I CAN'T COME TO THE WALK. CAN I STILL FUNDRAISE?

Definitely! When you register at walk.jdrf.org, there is an option to choose “Virtual Walker”. Enjoy all the perks of having your personal fundraising page, even if you can’t make it on Walk day.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

The Walk takes place rain or shine. However, in the event of a severe thunderstorm, please visit our website for cancellation updates – www.jdrf.org
