Starting Settings for Tandem AID Systems
This tool uses guideline recommendations for starting settings¹. Locate the person’s Pump TDI and see suggested Basal Rates, Correction Factor, and Carb Ratio.
If transitioning from multiple daily injections:
Use Profile Settings Calculator (when available) or calculate pump total daily insulin (TDI) by using pre-pump TDI x 0.75 (and consider averaging with kg x 0.5)¹
*The following settings are fixed when Control-IQ+ technology is on: Target Blood Glucose: 110 mg/dL; Insulin duration: 5 hours.
