Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to manage the entire line of consumable products associated with the Tandem Diabetes Care medical devices. Mix of upstream product development and down steam product commercialization. The Product Manager must be skilled in translating market research into product and customer requirements. Must also have experience in identifying sales and marketing programs that drive product revenue and profit growth for the company. This position requires an interface with all functional areas including Sales, Business Development, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Manufacturing and 3rd party vendors.
Position's Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in establishing the strategic direction and road map for all consumable product lines
- Acquire, analyze and act on market research information.
- Manage the upstream product development process interfacing with R&D on requirements and specifications.
- Interface with 3rd party consumable manufacturers.
- Design, development, and implement marketing campaigns.
- Develop measures to track the effectiveness of relevant sales and marketing efforts.
- Act as internal and external champion of the products.
- Develop appropriate sales tools and collateral as well as sales training materials.
- Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with key customers and clinical investigators.
- Communication with management on product, performance, issues or market changes.
- Interface with Manufacturing to assist with product planning and forecasting.
- Interface with R & D in the product development process.
- Support consumable reimbursement efforts.
Position Requirements:
- BS/BA Degree in marketing, business, health science or related field.
- 3+ years experience in medical device marketing or sales.
- Experience in diabetes and/or consumable medical devices a strong plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a “start-up” environment.
- Proven ability to determine product requirements and implement them through product development and market positioning.
- Proven ability to set tactical and operational direction for the product line, including price setting, inventory forecasts, etc. This requires insight into the market, reimbursement, competition and other internal and external factors.
