Jen Block, RN, CDE
Jen Block, RN, CDE has worked in diabetes care for many years working with
patients living with Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational Diabetes. She currently
works as a diabetes educator and clinical research coordinator at Stanford
University in the Department of Pediatric Endocrinology. She has worked
extensively on a variety of multi-center research studies on the use of
technology in the management of Type 1 Diabetes in children and adults. Jen has
published many articles and given many presentations about diabetes care and the
integration of diabetes technology into clinical practice. Her interest in
diabetes and diabetes research stems from her own diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes.

Steven V. Edelman, MD
Dr. Edelman is a professor of medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at the University of California at San Diego and the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System of San Diego and the director of the Diabetes Care Clinic VA Medical Center. He graduated as the Valedictorian from the University of California at Davis Medical School, received his internal medicine training at the Internal Medicine Residency at the University of California–Los Angeles, and completed his endocrinology fellowship at the Joslin and Lahey Clinics in Boston, Mass., as well as a research fellowship at UCSD.
Dr. Edelman is the founder and director of Taking Control of Your Diabetes (TCOYD), a not-for-profit organization with the goal of teaching and motivating patients in diabetes self-care.
Dr. Edelman’s has authored 200+ articles and five books and has won numerous awards for teaching and humanitarianism including the San Diego Magazine, who recognized Dr. Edelman as a Top Doctor. Dr. Edelman is an active member of The Endocrine Society, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, the American Association of Diabetes Educators, the Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and the International Diabetes Federation.

Larry Fox, MD
Dr. Larry Fox is a pediatric endocrinologist at Nemours Children’s Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. He serves as the medical director of the Northeast Florida Pediatric Diabetes Center, the only pediatric diabetes center serving Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. Dr. Fox has academic appointment at Mayo Medical School as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics.
Dr. Fox is involved in numerous clinical research studies, most of which involve diabetes.

Virginia Valentine, CNS, BC-ADM, CDE
Virginia Valentine, CNS, BC-ADM, CDE, has been helping people manage their diabetes for more than 25 years. She is currently the co-owner and CEO of Diabetes Network®, Inc., a free-standing diabetes education and management center in Albuquerque and providing education and management in multiple locations in central New Mexico and Pueblo Colorado. In 1999, Ms. Valentine was awarded the Roche/Zitter Diabetes Disease Management Award, and she is a past recipient of the Outstanding Diabetes Educator of the Year Award and the 2006 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
Virginia received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University Of Oklahoma College Of Nursing. She holds faculty appointments with the University of New Mexico College of Nursing, School of Medicine and College of Pharmacy. She is a member of the Advanced Practice Advisory Board to the New Mexico Board of Nursing and serves as Past-President of the New Mexico Leadership Council of the American Diabetes Association.
Her published works include professional publications and books for patients, including Diabetes, the New Type 2. (2008) Tarcher/Penguin Books

John Walsh, PA, CDE
John Walsh, PA, CDE is a Physician Assistant and Diabetes Clinical Specialist who has provided clinical care for patients with diabetes for 28 years. His speciality is starting and maintaining patients on insulin pumps. He is co-author of Pumping Insulin, in its fourth edition, Using Insulin, STOP the Rollercoaster, and The Pocket Pancreas. President of Diabetes Mall/Diabetes Network, he is also webmaster of diabetesnet.com, a highly trafficked source of diabetes information and technology visited by over 1.5 million people each year.
John is a frequent speaker on insulin pump therapy and intensive management to people with diabetes and health professionals. He is a consultant to corporations regarding smart pumps, meters and continuous monitors and is on the advisory board of several diabetes device companies. He teaches in the Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Institute.
John has worn a wide variety of insulin pumps for the last 27 years.

Gloria Yee, RN, CDE
Gloria Yee is one of the principal instructors at the University of California, San Francisco Diabetes Teaching Center and sees patients in the Diabetes Clinic for individual consultation in diabetes self-management training. She is the Diabetes Teaching Center’s specialist in new technologies and an important contributor to the Diabetes Education Online patient education website project.
A popular lecturer, Gloria Yee frequently speaks to healthcare professionals and people with diabetes on diabetes management and education. She has specialized in teaching diabetes self management skills to patients for over 15 years and has written numerous articles on patient care and patient empowerment. She is fluent in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese.
Gloria Yee received a Bachelor of Fine Art from San Francisco State and Associate Degree in Nursing from College of Marin. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator.
